Summer Scarves

So is it completely ridiculous to wear scarves in the summer? I really needed a little pop of color in this outfit and could only find it in the form of a scarf. I tried rationalizing with myself all day long on why it's socially acceptable to wear this article of clothing when it's 85 degrees outside and the best I could come up with? If people can wear jeans in the summer then I can wear a scarf too. So there.
